Pure Flavors Pleasing The Palate
Osteria is a bit of an understatement for this elegant, quiet and contemporary dining room. The pure lines of the interior, however, complement the genuine and clean flavors of the chef's cuisine very well.
Cristian Torsiello works with mostly local ingredients, avoids too many spices and an unnecessary mix of flavors. He lets the main product and its original taste be the star on your plate. Unforgettable: a very delicious tomato juice reduction of sun dried tomatoes grown on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. These tomatoes are amongst the best in Italy.
The food is presented on exquisite porcelain, and some of our amuses bouches came on top of wooden cylinders reminding me of the Doric columns at the Architectural Park of Paestum nearby.
There is an extensive wine list of Italian and international wines. We chose a bottle from the many local and reasonably priced wines, a white from the slopes of the Amalfi Coast: delicious.
There are a 7 and a 10 course menu which are worth the money given the excellent quality of the food, the service and the ambiance of this beautiful restaurant.
